Cleveland arrived in Vietnam 1968 and was assigned to 3rd Platoon.

Died:
July 20, 1968 in Thua Thien, South Vietnam due to hostile fire.
No one was more respected then the medic.
They were fearless and nothing could prevent them from answering the call of
"Medic".
SGT James A. Cleveland earned the Purple Heart (Posthumously) for military merit and for
wounds received in action resulting in their deaths from small arms gun fire wounds, in the Thua
Thien Province, South Vietnam.
