SGT Ivan R. Febo-Betancourt earned the Purple Heart (Posthumously) for military merit and for
wounds received which resulted in their deaths. They received multiple fragmentation wounds
when their unit came under hostile mortar and small arms fire, 35KM NW of HUE, in the Quang
Tri Province, South Vietnam.
