| Shaw arrived at Fort Campbell, KY in 1967 and was assigned to 3rd Platoon. He went with A Company to South Vietnam, December 1967. Captain Roy Edward Shaw, Jr. Died: December 6, 1970, at Quang Ngai, South Vietnam due to hostile fire Shaw may have been the last Fort Campbell Original to die in Vietnam. |

I have been looking for relatives or someone who cared for Roy Edward Shaw, Captain -
DOB 10-2-39 - Died in Quang Ngai province on December 6, 1970 while we were
chasing 6 heavily armed VC. He was from Bowling Green,Florida.
Shaw died instead of me when he stepped on a very large land mine that I had passed
just a few minutes earlier. It should have been me and I have lived with the guilt for 37
years. I have always wondered if anyone but me thought of him. Can you help
